What Is Placenta Encapsulation?

Placenta encapsulation is the process of preparing the placenta after birth by carefully cleaning, steaming or dehydrating it, grinding it into a fine powder, and placing it into capsules for postpartum consumption.

The placenta is an incredible, life-sustaining organ that nourished your baby throughout pregnancy. Many mothers choose encapsulation as a way to honor their birth experience and support their postpartum recovery in a holistic, traditional way.

As your placenta artist, I follow strict safety and handling protocols to ensure your placenta is prepared with care, cleanliness, and reverence.

Here are a few possible benefits:

Possible Benefits

Helps to balance your hormone

Balanced hormones play a major role in postpartum energy levels because hormones directly influence metabolism, mood, sleep, and overall nervous system regulation.

Replenishes depleted iron levels

Supporting healthy iron levels can contribute to improved energy and reduced feelings of fatigue in the postpartum period.

Reduce postpartum bleeding

The placenta contains oxytocin, which supports uterine contractions after birth and may help the uterus shrink more efficiently, potentially reducing postpartum bleeding.

Supports milk production

Some mothers report that placenta encapsulation supports a steady milk supply, possibly due to the presence of hormones involved in lactation.

Every body is different, and results vary. Placenta encapsulation is not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent any medical condition. I always encourage mothers to speak with their healthcare provider if they have questions about whether this service is right for them.
